Woman of All Seasons

Being busy

Have you exhausted yourself being the woman of all seasons?

The woman of all seasons doesn't know she requires a season of dormancy to reflect on the state of her own existence, to reflect on her pain and resolve her inner conflicts. She doesn't know that she can declare this season anytime she needs it.

The woman of all seasons doesn't know that she can blossom whenever she chooses. Fertilizer and water cannot force her to release her beauty.

The woman of all seasons may be ashamed to drop her leaves because others expect her to be in a perpetual state of bloom. Don't they know that seasons are necessary for beauty to be revealed?

Be the woman of all seasons. Have your seasons and time them well.

Bloom when you want to bloom.

Sprout when you want to sprout.

Lie dormant when you need to retreat.

Sway your beauty in your own way and in your own time.

The seasons of your life tell your story.

Commentary:

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.”

Seasons come without our beckoning and our lives are organized around their arrival. Seasons are temporary and yet permanent, radical and yet predictable. The seasons of a ‘woman’s life’ follows the patterns of nature, and, though she may want to change its flow, the seasons come to sweep her life away in predictable fashion.

The ‘season of her birth’ predicts her destiny…she will be lovely, sought after, a reflection of her mother, the Keeper of her family lineage.

During the ‘season of maturity’ she will marry a man to love and care for her. He will honor her with his devotion because she is worthy and works to earn his loyalty.

During the ‘season of birth’ children plant her identity in this world. By their goodness or badness she will be known. Though the seasons of their lives challenge her, she finds ways to believe in them and survive them.

After years of planting, she is tired and wants to ‘pluck up’ her identity to discover who she is… craving the dreams she left behind.

The ‘season of her death’ magnifies the sacrifices of her life. She meets death alone, surrendering her tired body to Eternity from whence she came. We remember what she was and imagine what she ‘could have been.’

Women of the 21st Century are struggling to alter the ‘seasons of their lives’ claiming their dreams earlier, their powers faster, and their independence without guilt. They fill the halls of universities, stand tall at podiums, head their own corporations, heal the sick of heart and mind, and govern for a fresh start.

“a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.”

Every woman is expected to be the ‘Bearer of Seasons’ for you and me!

This timely topic will awaken us to the radical transitions in a woman’s life and how her power influences her life and the world. Topics will include: What makes a woman’s leadership unique? Can a woman lead when has been socialized to follow? Why do the seasons of her life impact her so personally? Do women have the right to alter the seasons of their lives everyone believes are ‘so normal?’
