Origin of Your Dreams

What dreams are you chasing?

What dreams motivate you to sacrifice so much of yourself for their accomplishment?

Are you letting your dreams create your life or is your life creating your dreams?

Your culture dictates your dreams: a perfect body, perfect weight, perfect skin and hair. It also dictates the perfect love; who will care for and honor you; and the perfect child, who is a good student and grows to be a professional adult.

As cultural messages invade your life, your dreams leave you behind. Dreams can be so powerful that you judge yourself harshly and struggle with others who try to be close to you.

The truth is that dreams are rarely in the place you would expect them to be. When you are living someone else’s dream, the blessings of dreaming are lost. Dreams must be your creation, your resting-place, rather than your shaming- place.

Dreams that belong to you will engage, not conquer, you.

Test the origin of your dreams over and over again to be certain that they are worthy of your life.
