Ann Mody Lewis, Ph.D.
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Dr. Ann Lewis earned her Bachelor’s degree at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York; her Master’s and Specialist’s degrees from Nova Southeastern University; and her Doctorate from Fairfax University. She is the President/Clinical Director of A. Lewis & Associates, P.A. and has been in private practice since 1985.
Dr. Lewis has always enjoyed her clinical

work and looks for creative ways to bring the wonders of psychological awareness to her clients and the community. She is the founder of Women’s Journey, Inc. and Men’s Journey. She combines her personal life experiences with her clinical skills to help clients explore new pathways to happiness and peace. |

Irene Hansen Savarese

Irene Hansen Savarese has a Master degree in Psychology from Copenhagen University in Denmark, where she also earned Authorization from The Danish Board of Psychological Practice in Clinical Psychology. Through her work at Psychiatric Hospitals, Psychological Clinics and Counseling Centers in Denmark and Florida, she has experience in counseling of clients with a wide range |
of issues including eating disorders,
domestic violence, anxiety, depression
and parenting. She also specializes
in crisis intervention, suicide prevention
and empowerment. Irene uses a psychodynamic,
narrative approach to counseling where
the clients problems are seen in a
social context. In her work with children,
adolescents, adults and elders she
strives to restore
self-respect by focusing on appreciating the clients strengths and abilities
and bringing the best of what they already have to the future. Irene believes
that connecting to Self and others is the most important issue in psychotherapy. Apart from individual, couples and family therapy Irene also runs a weekly women’s empowerment group focusing on dreams and visions, and creating concrete steps to take to live a more empowering life. Irene speaks Danish and English. |

Julie D. Bruno, Psy.D
Julie D. Bruno, Psy.D earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Composition and Communications from Florida State University. She earned her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University. Julie acquired specialized training throughout her doctoral education in child, medical and forensic assessment. Additionally, she acquired training in substance abuse, co-occurring disorders and forensic psychology. Julie utilizes an integrated approach to psychotherapy with a firm foundation in

existential theory. She has special interest in treatment of individuals with existential concerns, history of abuse and trauma, substance abuse, gender issues and family of origin issues.

Antonio F. DeFilippo, M.D., graduated form the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. He is a Board Certified Psychiatrist and Psycho- pharmacologist. He is a Medical Director for Miami’s Health Spectrum Program, Susan B. Anthony Center, Chrysalis Community Mental Health Center, Broward County Regional Health Planning Council and Associates in Counseling & Psychiatry. He is an International speaker for several Pharmaceutical Companies. Dr. DeFilippo speaks English, Italian, and Spanish. |

Rebekah A. Bardwell,
M.Ed., L.M.H.C.
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Rebekah A. Bardwell, M.Ed., L.M.H.C.,
brings to Ann Lewis and Associates,
expertise in the fields of Eating
Disorders, Substance Abuse, Depression,
Anxiety, Abuse and Trauma, and associated
disorders. Rebekah has been employed
by The Renfrew Center, the leading
treatment center for Eating Disorders,
since 1999, when she
|
completed her Bachelors degree
in Psychology. Rebekah received
her Master’s Degree in Mental
Health Counseling in 2002, when
she began her work in the field
of Substance Abuse. Since then,
Rebekah has developed several groups
at The Renfrew Center including
“Real Life Excursions”,
which affords women the opportunity
to make a smooth transition from
in-patient treatment back into the
challenges of daily life. Rebekah
has also designed and implemented
a new Meal Support Therapy Program,
and is frequently involved in the
training of new staff members and
practicum students. In addition,
Rebekah has appeared in the HBO
documentary “THIN”,
which was nominated for Best Documentary
at Sundance Film Festival, and was
recently nominated for an Emmy.
Rebekah employs an eclectic and
individualized approach to therapy
in order to empower individuals,
couples, and families to change
their lives.

Andrew
S. Rubin, Ph.D.
is a licensed clinical psychologist,
specializing in the treatment of both
children and adults. He offers individual
and couples therapy, family therapy,
comprehensive psychological evaluations,
and consultation services. His background
integrates expertise in cognitive
behavioral therapy, developmental
theory, and neuropsychology, into
an evidenced-based treatment approach
that is bothempathic and based on
the current scientific literature. |
Most recently, Dr. Rubin was the
lead psychologist at the Unicorn
Child Development Clinic at Nova
Southeastern University’s
Mailman Segal Institute for Early
Childhood Studies (formerly "The
Family Center" at NSU). In
this position, he supervised a team
of professionals, post-doctoral
fellows, doctoral level practicum
students, and student interns in
the diagnosis and treatment of children
with developmental disorders. He
is currently the leader of many
of NSU’s parenting programs,
teaching parenting classes on behavior
management strategies, toilet training
workshops, sleep challenges and
educational trainings for new fathers.
Dr. Rubin currently teaches graduate
level courses in child development
and infant mental health. In addition,
Dr. Rubin has taught graduate level
courses on child and adult psychopathology,
assessment, and therapeutic intervention.
Dr. Rubin lectures widely to community
organizations, speaking on issues
related to the social and emotional
development of young children, early
signs of developmental disorders,
behavioral disorders, depression,
anxiety, and addiction disorders.
Prior to working at NSU, Dr. Rubin
was on staff at Tulane University’s
Department of Psychiatry and Neurology,
and Louisiana State University’s
Health Science Center, where he
provided treatment and performed
comprehensive assessments and neuropsychological
evaluations.
Dr. Rubin attended college at the
University of Connecticut, New York
University, and earned his Ph.D.
in Clinical Psychology from the
Illinois Institute of Technology’s
Institute of Psychology. He has
previously worked at many hospitals
and training institutions including
University of Chicago Hospital,
Department of Child Psychiatry;
Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical
Center; Tulane University Medical
School, Department of Psychiatry
and Neurology; Tulane-DePaul Behavioral
Health Center; Louisiana State University
Health Science Center; The Medical
Center of Louisiana (Charity Hospital);
Illinois Masonic Medical Center;
and the Pain and Rehabilitation
Clinic of Chicago (PRCC).
