Building Trust

When you are too eager to give your trust, trust will betray you.
As children we trusted innately and unconditionally until the trust was broken. We then learned to be cautious.
But when it comes to love, we can never be cautious enough.
When your lover looks the right way or says the right words, you give your trust willingly. As your lover pays attention to your emotional needs, you trust them even more.
Trust requires time, time and more time; communication, shared experiences and healthy conflict.
Before you give away the precious gift of trust, understand why. Make your lover earn it, then you will trust the trust you give because it is an experience you have created together.
While you wait to give your trust—neither trust nor distrust—remain open to disclosure, which is its pathway.
Be vigilant with your love until trust clears an open path upon which you can confidently and safely place your feet.
