Service

Service is not always love.

Service is doing for others. In itself, it cannot hold the magic of love.

Service may be compliance without meaning.

Only love can give service meaning. Only love can balance your outside world with your inside life.

If you do not love your life, service is what you give.

Service to others, without the magic of your heart, is like music without melody.

Paying attention to the embers of your personal love is the prelude to all service. We can only love fully and deeply if we love our lives. Do whatever you need to do to keep love present in your life. It almost always means paying attention to you. As foreign as this might feel, this paradigm shift will quickly relieve your stress and lift your spirit.

The presence of love must supersede the offering of service. Service is blessed when it is an expression of love, an experience of love, it becomes love.

Service

Commentary:

If you can overcome your fear of being used, service becomes spiritual.
There are many reasons for giving service: to earn money to fulfill family obligations,
show love; and the most sublime reason: to contribute to the universe.

Believe it not, the universe needs you! There are gifts that only you can give.
We call this purposeful giving: Charismata. What you give doesn't have to be
world-famous, like a movie star; it is your contribution to the world around you.
After you are laid to rest, what will be remembered about you is your service.

Have you ever noticed that what you give is what you receive? In other words,
the generous heart never has to worry about having enough...like the birds of the
air and the fish of the sea that neither toil nor worry, your needs will be satisfied.

Cynics will laugh at this idea. Only believers know it's true.

“You have two hands. One to help yourself, the second to help others.”
Audrey Hepburn

We are most connected to ourselves when/if we are connected to ourselves.
Our thoughtful giving presupposes we've asked ourselves: What can I give?
How can I give? How will my giving make someone's life better? You are not in
the world to be used up, but to give up self-centeredness. Being a citizen
of the world is serving the world from your own uniqueness. This is spirituality!

The topic this month is calling to you. It is an invitation to you. It is an acknowledgment
that you are special!

Topics will include: Service with love is different than service with resentment.
Service is a form of love. Servicing others presupposes you know what you have to give.
Service breeds maturity.

Let's talk to realize that we are co-creators of the universe.
