Mother’s Happiness

A question I always ask my clients: “Was your mother happy being your mother?”

Children watch the person who feeds them, changes their diaper and takes them to school. Children pay close attention to what happens when they spill their milk or forget to put their toys away. What they see is not the service, but the disposition of the caregiver.

It is your inner life that children notice and interpret. They attach your disposition to their identity.
Your children love you enough to, above all things, want you to be happy.

Mother Theresa of Calcutta reminded us, “She gives most who gives with joy.”
Giving joy is so much better than giving service.
