When night has fallen, you know with certainty that the dawn will come.

For that reason, night does not frighten you, because you know you will use it to rest your body and your mind.

The night is welcomed.

Scientists tell you how important it is to let go of your anxieties when night comes, so you can allow yourself to rejuvenate. The degree of rejuvenation is based on how completely you can let go of what you couldn’t accomplish, what didn’t go right, of unsolved conflicts and unfound love.

Tonight, as you rest your head on a soft pillow, remind yourself: “Today, I did all that I could do.”

It is a simple way of accepting your humanness. You are born to be human. You have that right. When night has fallen, you know with certainty that the dawn will come.

Commentary:

Anxiety is the chronic disorder of the 21st century. Tragically, most of its victims are unaware of their anxiety, until it becomes so severe it won't be denied. Anxiety can be the result of childhood trauma, addiction, adulthood loss, or internalized shame. The damaging event does not, in itself, cause anxiety; but continual denial of it does! What does this mean?

The human heart is a resilient heart capable of renewing itself over and over again!
Renewal requires talking, remembering, feeling, and resetting our perception of life.
How do we make this happen? We:

  • acknowledge what happened to us by remembering
  • grieved our losses and emotional pain
  • forgave those who hurt us
  • gained a new understanding of our lives
  • respect our strength to survive

What usually causes long-term anxiety is pain we thought didn't matter. Though 'we put it out our mind,’ our body does not forget! Pain withheld causes symptoms that won't be denied.

We feel tired, irritable, defeated, unloved. We get sick, have panic attacks, accuse others of trying to hurt us, develop compulsive disorders known as addictions, and so many
more symptoms that all make our lives difficult.

Anxiety can become so familiar that we fear living without it. We pretend it gives us energy, motivates us to get things accomplished, and protects us from being ripped-off.
Don't make anxiety your best friend because in the end you will lose!

October's discussion of anxiety could be a life-saver. The thoughts we share won't save you, but a new awareness could motive you to look within. Taking your life seriously
maybe the greatest love affair you will ever have...and who doesn't want that?
So join me as we tear into anxiety and learn to use it, instead of letting it consume us!

Topics of discussion during October will include: Is anxiety ever helpful? What causes anxiety? Should I take a pill or seek a cure? The kind of anxiety that is never your friend? What is the connection between anxiety and illness?

Join me in this discussion about life.

Let's talk!
